What is a Service?
A service in TutorLingua represents a type of lesson you offer. For example:
- 30-minute conversation practice
- 60-minute grammar lesson
- 45-minute exam preparation session
Each service has its own name, description, duration, and price.
Creating a New Service
To create a service:
- Go to Dashboard > Services in your TutorLingua account
- Click "Add Service"
- Fill in the service details:
Service Details
Name Give your service a clear, descriptive name. Good examples:
- "Conversational Spanish - 60 min"
- "IELTS Preparation Session"
- "Business English Coaching"
Description Explain what students can expect from this lesson. Include:
- What you'll cover
- Who it's best for
- Any prerequisites
Duration Choose how long the lesson lasts:
- 30 minutes - Quick practice sessions
- 45 minutes - Standard lessons
- 60 minutes - In-depth sessions
- 90 minutes - Intensive practice
Price Set your rate for this service. Consider:
- Your experience level
- Market rates in your niche
- The lesson duration
Tip: You can create multiple services at different price points. Many tutors offer a discounted trial lesson to attract new students.
Service Settings
Active Status
Toggle whether this service appears on your booking page. Useful for:
- Seasonal offerings
- Services only for existing students
- Testing new lesson types
Approval Required
Enable this if you want to review booking requests before confirming. Students will request a time slot, and you can approve or decline.
Best Practices
Offer a Trial Lesson
Create a shorter, lower-priced "trial" service:
- 30 minutes at a reduced rate
- Helps students experience your teaching style
- Great for converting first-time bookers
Bundle with Session Packages
Consider offering session packages for students who book regularly:
- 5 lessons at a 10% discount
- 10 lessons at a 15% discount
You can create packages in Dashboard > Session Packages.
Clear Naming
Use names that clearly communicate value:

Managing Existing Services
To edit or delete a service:
- Go to Dashboard > Services
- Click on the service you want to modify
- Make your changes and click Save
To temporarily hide a service without deleting it, toggle the Active switch off.
