Upgrading Your Plan

How to upgrade from Pro to Studio, understand prorated billing, and what happens when you downgrade.

How to Upgrade

Upgrading from Pro to Studio takes less than a minute:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Upgrade to Studio
  3. Confirm your subscription change
  4. Studio features are available immediately

You'll receive a confirmation email with your updated subscription details and next billing date.

Prorated Billing

If you upgrade mid-billing cycle, you only pay the difference for the remaining days in that period. TutorLingua calculates the proration automatically.

Example

If your billing cycle starts on the 1st and you upgrade from Pro to Studio on the 15th:

  • You're charged the difference between Pro and Studio for the remaining ~15 days
  • Your next full Studio billing cycle starts on the 1st of the following month

No double-charging, no surprises.

What Happens When You Upgrade to Studio

All Studio features are unlocked instantly:

  • Native video classroom becomes available for your next lesson
  • Recording and transcription starts automatically
  • AI drills can be generated from lesson content
  • Learning roadmaps appear in student profiles
  • Custom domain and API access are enabled
  • Your data stays exactly as it is — nothing is lost or changed

Your students won't see any disruption. Everything continues seamlessly.

Downgrading from Studio to Pro

If you want to move from Studio to Pro:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select Pro
  4. Confirm the change

What Happens When You Downgrade

  • Your Studio plan stays active until the end of your billing period
  • After that, Pro takes effect
  • Studio-exclusive features (video classroom, recordings, transcription, drills, clips, roadmaps) become unavailable

What Happens to Your Data

  • Students — All student data is preserved
  • Bookings — Past and upcoming bookings remain intact
  • Session packages — Existing packages stay active until used or expired
  • Lesson recordings — Past recordings remain accessible (read-only)
  • AI-generated content — Lesson plans, reports, and drills you've created remain accessible
  • Transcripts — Existing transcripts are preserved

We never delete your data when you downgrade. If you upgrade again later, everything will be right where you left it.

Switching Billing Cycle

Switch between monthly and annual billing anytime:

  • Pro Monthly — $29/month
  • Pro Annual — $199/year (~$17/month, save 43%)
  • Studio Monthly — $79/month
  • Studio Annual — $499/year (~$42/month, save 47%)

Change your billing cycle in Settings > Billing.

Reactivating After Trial

If your trial ended without a payment method:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Choose Pro or Studio
  3. Add your payment method
  4. Your account reactivates immediately with all your data intact

Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay (where supported)

All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Updating Your Payment Method

To change the card on file:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Update Payment Method
  3. Enter your new card details
  4. Save
